Technology
Senzime has developed a biosensor platform that can be used
for building monitoring systems for online, serial measurements
(intervals typically 3-5 min) of substances in complex environments.
This is made possible by using a novel biosensor technology,
based on thermal flow detection.
The platform consists of a sensor (containing an enzyme reactor),
a detector unit with transducer and software for signal processing.

The
sensor is positioned in thermal contact with the transducer
during the measurements. At set time intervals a tiny fraction
of the sample fluid is directed to the detector unit where
the enzyme in the sensor, specifically, reacts with the substance
in the sample producing a heat flow which is sensed by the
transducer in the detector. The amount of heat is directely
related to the concentration of the substance.
At any time it is possible to adjust the intervals between
each measurement.
Whereas the heat sensing device is a permanent part of Senzime’s
monitoring instruments, the sensor is a disposable unit. |
