Raising the Standard: Pediatric Neuromuscular Block Management From Guidelines to Clinical Practice
Lunch symposium sponsored by Senzime
March 14, 2026 | 12:30 pm-1:30 pm MT
Room: Director's Row E
Residual neuromuscular block remains an important patient safety concern in pediatric anesthesia. In 2025, the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and the European Society for Paediatric Anaesthesiology (ESPA) presented new, evidence-based guidelines emphasizing the role of quantitative neuromuscular monitoring in children. This 60-minute symposium will feature guideline author Dr. Nicola Disma alongside U.S. pediatric anesthesia thought leader Dr. Debra Faulk.
Complimentary boxed lunches will be available for registered attendees.
During the symposium, the experts will review key elements of the ESAIC/ESPA recommendations, examine their clinical implications, and share practical approaches for integrating these standards into routine pediatric anesthesia practice.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this symposium, participants will be able to:
- Describe the core recommendations of the 2025 ESAIC/ESPA pediatric neuromuscular block guidelines.
- Identify common barriers to implementation and discuss practical solutions.
- Apply guideline-based strategies in everyday pediatric anesthetic care.
